[D2-04] Population Aging and the Community-based Integrated Care System in Akita Prefecture
キーワード:Population Aging, Accessibility, Health Care
The Japanese government has proposed “the community-based integrated care system” to provide health support for elderly people in their communities. This paper examines the spatial distribution patterns of the aged population and evaluates the performance of this care system in Akita Prefecture. To identify the spatial distribution, we use Moran’s I and Getis-Ord Gi* statistics. The accessibility to elderly care resources in the care system is measured using the two-step floating catchment area (2SFCA) method. We find that the elderly population is becoming more spatially clustered, and the degree of population aging is increasing across Akita Prefecture. The accessibility of care facilities in the care system for the elderly population varies considerably, indicating issues of inequity in resource accessibility. The results can help officials identify future resource allocation plans to enhance overall accessibility and promote health equity in the community care system.
