[P1-01] Development of Disaster Management System to Support Self-Help and Mutual Help
Keywords:e-Learning System, Disaster Prevention and Reduction, Household Stockpiles, Natural Disaster, GIS
To minimize the damage caused by natural disasters, it is important for each person to protect his or her own life by self-help and for local communities to help each other by mutual help until public help arrives. Against such a backdrop, this study aimed to develop to a system that can efficiently support self-help and mutual help from the normal times. One of the actions to engage in self-help is to keep a stockpile of items in the home that will be useful in the event of a disaster. In addition, the other action to engage in mutual help is to share disaster information in the local community and effectively utilize it from normal time. The system consists of an e-learning system and a disaster information sharing system, and users can access the system via PCs and mobile information terminals. The e-learning system aims to support self-help, and has the functions for learning about household stockpiles and evaluating users' stockpile status in order to help them improve their stockpile status. The disaster information sharing system aims to support mutual help, and has the GIS-based SNS function to support efficient sharing of disaster information in the local community.
