Event Overview
Welcome to the 12th International Cycling Safety Conference in Imabari
International Cycling Safety Community
Since 2012, the International Cycling Safety Community (ICSC) has been a forum for scientists, policy makers and other cycling experts whose scientific and practical activities are aimed at making cycling safer. It has offered the opportunity for exchange and discussion, for getting to meet old friends and new collaborators. Over the years, hundreds of contributions have addressed novel research questions and presented innovative practical solutions dedicated to the improvement of cycling safety.
ICSC 2024 hosted by IATSS
ICSC 2024, hosted by the International Association of Traffic and Safety Sciences (IATSS) on November 5 to 7 2024, will invite delegates from over the world to bike through Imabari, workshops, meet other people professionally interested in cycling safety, learn from each other and share knowledge.
Theme: Exploring Cycling Safety Culture
There is a growing interest in how to achieve safe cycling in society, from the policy level to the operational level on the roads. Discussions will cover key issues such as the definition of a cycling safety culture, the challenges faced by road users, the activities of organisations and individuals involved in cycling and road safety, and the role of researchers in promoting safe cycling. We hope that this conference will be an excellent opportunity to promote international collaboration between researchers with the aim of improving cycling safety. We will explore the concept of a cycling safety culture while gaining a deeper understanding of the situation in the host city, which has achieved a unique development in cycling safety on a global scale.
