[R4-03] Study of absorption characterization of radiocesium for environmental mineral -Possibility of absorption in amphibole and feldspars
Keywords:Mineral, Radiocaesium, River basin
Radiocesium emitted from the TEPCO’s Fukushima Daiichi NPS accident was deposited into the river system. Identification of radiocesium sorbed minerals in sediments is important. In this study, we investigated crystal structure of hornblende and feldspar in riverbed using SEM and TEM within Tomioka river. The results showed a part of surface on hornblende and felspars is altered to clay minerals. We also confirmed hornblende had cleavages and fractures which filling altered mineral inner part. This implies that these altered minerals could be contribute radiocesium adsorbing.
