[R5-06] Evaluation of Fe valence state change in plagioclase by shock events as inferred from micro-XANES analysis
Keywords:Shock metamorphism, Plagioclase, XANES
We focused on the iron valences in maskelynite and analyzed them using Fe micro XANES to relatively evaluate the oxygen partial pressure of Shagotite. However, all shergottites have experienced heavy shock.
Therefore, we attempted to estimate red ox state of various plagioclase samples recovered from 3D shock recovery experiments by XANES analysis. The results show that there is little difference in the iron valence between unshocked and shocked samples, even if the samples are shocked about 10GPa and heated up to 500K.
