Keywords:Pseudotachylyte, Fault activity, Frictional melting, Ductile deformation zone

Pseudotachylyte is generated by frictional melting resulting from seismic rapid slip. In this study, two typses of pseudotachylyte veins are observed. From the microstructural observations, it is suggested that these veins are formed in ductile deformation zone and brittle deformation zone, respectively. In addition, it is considered that the fault activity in ductile deformation zone was contributed by the preferred orientation of biotite grains, and (001) of biotite works as weak plane of fault activity in ductile deformation zone.
