Keywords:Sanbagawa metamorphic belt, amphibole, glaucophane, Raman spectroscopy, carbonaceous material
A petrological study was conducted on the Sambagawa crystalline schists in Shibukawa region, central Japan. We attempted to constrain the metamorphic conditions by using the Raman carbonaceous material (CM) geothermometer in addition to the usual mineral composition analysis. EPMA analysis of Na-amphiboles showed that the Fe2+/(Fe2++Mg) values of the C cation ranged from 0.3 to 0.5, while the Fe3+/(Fe3++Al) values ranged from 0.2 to 0.9. The temperatures calculated by the Raman CM geothermometer ranged from 300 to 430℃, and showed a tendency to increase toward the northwest.
