Buildings are loaded not only the along-wind load but also the across-wind and the torsional wind loads, simultaneously. These combination loads are important for the wind resistant design. This paper investigates the appropriate combination coefficients, which are the ratios of the secondary load taken into account together with the primary load to the maximum. Usually the combination coefficients based on the time history analysis results are higher than the value predicted using the correlation coefficients. Accordingly this paper presents the combination coefficients estimated using the coherence of the normal coordinates of POD(Proper Orthogonal Decomposition) mode. These coefficients are similar to the coefficients obtained by the time history analysis.
