[17] Analysis of Relationship between Building Arrangement and Wind and Thermal Environments
-Comparison of Outdoor Environment in Coastal City and Inland City-
Keywords:Coastal City, Inland City, Wind and Thermal Environments, Building Distance
In this study, the wind and thermal environments with different building distances between coastal city and inland city at the similar latitudes were compared. Two Chinese cities, Shanghai and Wuhan were selected as a coastal city and an inland city, respectively. The results showed that (1) as the north-south building distance decreased, the wind speed around buildings became unevenly distributed, and the relatively high and low wind speed areas were obvious; (2) the cooling effects of building shade became more significant at a shorter north-south building distance in both Shanghai and Wuhan; (3) due to a relatively higher incoming wind speed and a relatively lower incoming air temperature, wind and thermal environments in Shanghai were better than those in Wuhan at the same building distance.
