[33] SPATIAL CORRELATION OF FLUCTUATING LIFT FOR 2D CYLINDER AND CYLINDER WITH DIFFERENT CROSS SECTIONS
Keywords:Fluctuating lift coefficient, Spatial correlation, Vortex shedding frequency
Spatial correlation of fluctuating lift for circular cylinder, rectangular cylinder and cylinder with different rectangular cross sections were experimentally investigated. For circular and rectangular cylinder except for B/D=3, drag coefficient decreased a little as wind speed increased and fluctuating lift coefficient drastically increased when wind speed reached limit speed of vortex induced vibration. But for rectangular cylinder with B/D=3, drag coefficient was almost constant and fluctuating lift coefficient increase in some wind speed range. Correlation index based on correlation of fluctuating lift at both ends was increased as wind speed increased. Another correlation index based on shape of peak was almost unity at low wind speed range and around 0.5 at other wind speed range. When wind force acts only half of the model, results of drag coefficient was based on concept of influence line, but fluctuating coefficient of drag and lift was same to each other at both ends.
