Seismic performance curve (S_a-S_(d )curve) shows the relationship between the representative displacement (S_(d )) and the equivalent base-shear force coefficient (S_(a )); deformation and shear force of the building can be observed straightforwardly through a simple S_a-S_(d )curve, which can help us to understand the capacity of the building in strong earthquakes. In this research, S_a-S_(d )curve was used to evaluate the seismic performance of an 8-story SRC building experiencing the 2011 off the Pacific coast of Tohoku Earthquake (happened in 2011.03.11.14:46). The results confirmed the applicability of S_a-S_(d )curve to evaluate the seismic performance of real building.
