小断面円形シールドトンネル（外殻シールドトンネル）を重ね合せて一体化することで外殻覆工体を構築し，大断面トンネルを構築する工法がある。本論文は，この外殻覆工体へのRSF（Reinforced concrete with Steel Fiber：鋼繊維補強鉄筋コンクリート）構造の適用を検討したものである。RSF構造を適用し，せん断補強鉄筋を省略した構造のせん断挙動を確認するため，実物の1/5に縮小したモデルの縮小模型実験と，2次元の非線形FEM解析を実施した。実験により，このRSF構造のせん断耐力と破壊性状を確認した。また，界面要素を適用したFEM解析により，実験におけるせん断挙動を良好な精度で再現できた。
