[MO-5] Prognostic factor of critical limb ischemia patients after endovascular therapy
【Objectives】Critical limb ischemia (CLI) is an advanced stage of peripheral artery disease and has a poor prognosis. However, there are only limited data available for clinical results.【Methods】We retrospectively reviewed 44 patients performed EVT for CLI between April 2013 and June 2018 in our hospital. 【Results】These 44 patients were 76.5 ± 9.6 years old and 26 (59%) were men. 12 patients were died and 12 patients led to amputation within three years after EVT. There were no significant differences in hypertension, diabetes mellitus, low ejection fraction (<40%) and cerebrovascular disease between survivor and non-survivors. However, hemodialysis (HD) was found to be a significant factor for survival. The survival rate at three years after EVT was significantly lower in HD patients compared with non-HD patients (45.0% vs 87.6%, log rank p = 0.028) (Figure 1A). On the other hand, the amputation rate at three years was similar between HD and non-HD patients (43.4% vs 61.5%, log rank p=0.668) (Figure 1B). Causes of death were infection (44.4%), cardiac death (33.3%) and unknown (22.2%) in HD patients and infection (25.0%), cardiac death (50.0%) and unknown (25.0%) in non-HD patients. 【Conclusions】 CLI patients with HD showed poor survival rate. To rescue them, cardiac diseases should be treated as well as CLI.
