[P110] Predicting Thermal Expansion Properties of Complex Composite Materials Using Multi-Scale Simulation

*Jinyong Lee1, Hyokyeong Kim1, Sooah Kyung1, Jongwook Kwak1, Jiwoong Kim1,2 (1. Department of Materials Science and Engineering, Soongsil University, Seoul 06978, Republic of Korea, 2. Department of Green Chemistry and Materials Engineering, Soongsil University, Seoul 06978, Republic of Korea)

Keywords:Multi-scale simulation、Thermal expansion coefficient (CTE)、Finite element method (FEM)、High-entropy ceramics (HEC)、Metal matrix

Multi-scale simulations predict high-temp composite expansion. FEM and thermo-elastic models align. Mo at 2000 K and Nb at 2500-3000 K show highest CTE mismatch and stress, ideal for high-temp use.
