[S-TT54] Sythetic Aperture Radar

Sun. May 24, 2015 4:15 PM - 6:00 PM 201A (2F)

Convener:*Tsutomu Yamanokuchi(Remote Sensing Technology Center of JAPAN), Tomokazu Kobayashi(Geospatial Information Authority of Japan), Yosuke Miyagi(National Research Institute for Earth Science and Disaster Prevention), Chair:Yosuke Miyagi(National Research Institute for Earth Science and Disaster Prevention), Osamu Isoguchi(Remote Sensing Technology Center of Japan)

Over the past year, JAXA and ESA launched space borne Synthetic Aperture Radar (SAR) satellite, which are ALOS-2 and Sentinel-1, respectively. Now, it has come to the "Golden Age" of SAR remote sensing.Based on the above background, we have discussion on the use of SAR data for not only geodesy but various applications like agriculture, cryosphere, disaster prevention, forest monitoring and so on.Furthermore, we will discuss the usability of novel technologies like PolSAR, PolInSAR, Persistent Scatterer Interferometry, and ScanSAR Interferometry etc. Through these broad discussions, we focus on the innovation of SAR technology and deepening of the use of SAR data.
