*Ryusuke Imura1 (1.Graduate School of Science and Engineering, Kagoshima University)

Keywords:Amami Oshima, 1960 Chilean tsunami, interview survey

From interview survey to residents in Amami islands, we reexamined the 1960 Chilean tsunami heights at the Amami Oshima Islands, Kagoshima Prefecture. It was revealed that the tsunami more than 1m height had come on all coasts in Amami Osima Islands. On the coast of the southern and western parts of Amami Oshima, the tsunami heights reached 3-4 m. Especially, we found that the Hyo at Kakeromajima was hit by a tsunami of 6.5 m in height.
