[O01-03] Teaching support for teachers who do not specialize in Geoscience
★Invited Papers
Keywords: Teaching support, non-Geoscience teacher
Due to the introduction of “Basic Earth Science” based on current Course of Study, the percentage of high school students choosing the basic subject of earth science increased approximately 7% to 26% in comparison to when the previous Course of Study was available.
This situation has caused a problem that a number of non-Geoscience teachers now have to teach “Basic Earth Science” with some difficulty, because a great number of high school science teachers tend to teach only their specialized subject.
Under these circumstances, some Geoscience education groups provide teaching materials and support systems to non-Geoscience teachers.
In this lecture, we will first introduce teaching materials and support systems for non-Geoscience teachers. Secondly, we will report on the efforts to improve teaching Geoscience classes and some requests from the viewpoint of a non-Geoscience teacher.
