[O08-P32] Bridge of scientific research to school education in a geopark, using a research fund of Muroto UNESCO Geopark

Keywords:bridge, scientific research, school education, research fund, drilling survey

Activities in a geopark is composed of conservation, education and tourism, in ascending order. Scientific research is mainly related to conservation, with little contribution to school education. Drilling survey was performed on the school ground, using a research fund of Muroto UNESCO Geopark. In the field, students observed a drilling work and enjoyed small excursion around. In the laboratory, students cut a sediment core, observed facies and imagined paleoenvironment. This presentation reports a bridge of scientific research to school education in a geopark.
