Frontier science and mathematics course at Kyoto Kogakuin Senior High School has collaborated with the Kwasan Observatory, Graduate School of Science, Kyoto University since 2018. A collaborative lesson for creating butterfly diagrams is provided as part of the "Earth Science Fundamentals" (Tamazawa et al., JpGU2018, G05-12). Originally, it began by responding to visitors visiting the observatory (Kamobe et al., JpGU2015, G03-12), but has been working to deepen educational content, including application to general-purpose courses. In February 2020, which was the third time, the division of work by a group of about 4 people until then was further divided into work by two people in principle, shortening the work time and securing the work to collect the considerations in time and carried out. By taking the time for consideration immediately after the work, and by giving a commentary by the researcher in charge of the collaborative lesson, students were able to have the opportunity to think about the contents of the basics of earth science, such as the relationship between the sun and the earth, flare, etc. We are trying to develop teaching materials to be used as teaching materials for “independent, interactive and deep learning” (so-called active learning), which will be included in the next course of study. It is important for reserachers and obserbers to participate in the lesson in order to learn how to secure time, how to allocate time to work toward it, and what kind of data was used as teaching materials.
