About CGU
CHINESE GEOSCIENCE UNION (CGU)
The Chinese Geoscience Union (CGU) is an umbrella societal organization for professionals and practitioners of all disciplines of Earth sciences located in Taipei, Taiwan. Established in 1993, CGU is the publisher of Terrestrial, Atmospheric and Oceanic Sciences Journal (TAO) which is Taiwan’s major international journal in Earth sciences. CGU strives to serve its members in providing a platform for fostering professional exchanges and cooperation domestically and internationally.
Taiwan Geoscience Assembly (TGA)
TGA is the triennial meeting organized by multiple earth sciences related societies in Taiwan. The next TGA is expected to be held on 2022 at Taipei, Taiwan.
Down through the ages, humans are closely linked with the natural environment. With the development of technology and global economy, however; the human–nature relationship is gradually breaking down.
Over the past few decades, the counterattack from Mother Nature has resulted in tremendous loss of human lives and property worldwide. To discuss the relationship between natural environment and human being, open up interdisciplinary discussion of geoscience and encourage knowledge integration, the Taiwan Geosciences Assembly (TGA) gathers geoscientists of different disciplines, includes Atmospheric Science, Geodesy, Geography, Geology, Geophysics, Hydrology, Space Science, Oceanic Science, from Taiwan and all over the world.
As a comprehensive meeting, TGA provides an excellent opportunity for participants to see nature from both sub-disciplinary and interdisciplinary points of view. Most important, it is hoped that the discussions will help raising the awareness of geosciences in the local public.
