The Center for Spatial Information Science aims for the researchers nationwide by conducting a variety of researches relating to spatial information science as a "Joint Usage / Research Center" and at the same time developing and providing spatial data infrastructure for research.
Spatial information science research has the characteristics of applied / policy science in addition to basic science, so joint research between industry, government, and academia is essential.
The Center mainly focuses on the following activities.
(1) Creation, in-depth, and dissemination of spatial information science
(2) Development of spatial data infrastructure for research
(3) Promotion of industry-government-academia joint research
