J-MARES (Research and Development Partnership for Next Generation Technology of Marine Resources Survey) is a collaborative innovation partnership approved by the Ministry of Education, Culture, Sports, Science and Technology for the purpose of research and development related to the establishment of technologies for marine resource survey systems, operational methods, and environmental evaluation methods. It consists of four companies: Japan Petroleum Exploration Co., Ltd., JGI, Inc., IDEA Consultants, Inc., and Mitsubishi Materials Techno Corporation.
　Currently, we are participating in the SIP ocean program “Innovative Technology for Exploration of Deep Sea Resources” as the only private sector implementing agency, and have continued to develop technology for rare earth rich mud in the EEZ area around Minamitorishima Island.
