Volcanoes exist on solid planetary surface across the solar system. They tell insight into the interior, and the surface environment when they were formed and subsequent evolution. Recent high-resolution remote sensing data on extraterrestrial body allows us to analyze on outcrop scales. Now we are on the stage to share the research targets beyond fields of general volcanology and planetary science. Because some geomorphological and geological environments in other planets are similar to those on Earth, research on volcanic geomorphology and geology on Earth will provide good terrestrial analogues to understand planetary volcanology. The aim of this session is to discuss formation history and mechanism of volcanoes across the solar system.
