In September 2018, we experienced severe storm damages over West Japan which paralyzed the Kansai International Airport. In September 2019, we also experienced severe storm damages by Typhoon No. 15 over East Japan, and huge electric power was down over wide areas in Chiba Prefecture. In October 2019, another Typhoon No. 19 caused extensive flood disasters over central Japan. In July 2020, severe flood disasters occurred in many places in Kyushu, Southwest Japan as well as in central Japan. We will discuss how to cope with such severe meteorological disasters under changing climate including participants. All the oral presentations are invited talks by the specialists in the Japan Geoscience Union (JpGU), and the Japan Academic Network for Disaster Reduction (JANET-DR) which was established in 2016.
