[ACG41-04] Detection of seagrass habitat in Himi, Toyama Bay using Google Earth Engine
キーワード:アマモ、リモートセンシング、海草
Extent of seagrass habitat was mapped in coastal zone of Himi area in Toyama Bay using Seagrass Mapper, a web-based tool for mapping coastal habitats built upon Google Earth Engine (GEE). Results of field survey of sea floor conducted by an underwater video camera in June in 2018 were used to train satellite image of July 15, 2018 taken by Worldview-110 camera on board Worldview 2 satellite for its segmentation. The areas of seagrass beds in Himi were then estimated by the random forest supervised classification method. The estimated area of seagrass habitat was then compared with the report from the Fisheries Research Institute of Toyama Prefectural Agricultural Forestry and Fisheries Research Center published 2011. The study shows that removal of effects of water column by the Bottom Reflectance Index method better estimates area of seagrass habitats especially in deeper water.
