[AOS15-06] Influence of observational missing on harmonic constants analyzed by the least squares method

*Chikara TSUCHIYA1, Kohei INO1, Takahiro KON1, Rika NOZAWA1, Shinji SUGIYAMA1 (1.Hydrographic and Oceanographic Department, Japan Coast Guard)

Keywords:Tide, Wave Glider

Japan Coast Guard operates GNSS observations using Autonomous Ocean Vehicles (AOVs) in order to determine the chart datum precisely using tidal time series of that period is more than one year. The obtained time series can have long observational missing because AOVs may locate out of the planning area due to the limitation of the driving force and power supply of the AOV. In this study, a necessary condition of the observation period to obtain reliable harmonic constants by analyzing responce of the harmonic constants by the harmonic analysis based on the least squares method to the duration of missing values is discussed.
