[E-11-20] For whom do we do GLOF research in the Himalaya?

Glacial lakes in the Himalaya have rapidly expanded since the 1950s due to melting glaciers. This attracted world’s researchers to glacial lake outburst flood (GLOF) studies in the region. Local residents have been threatened to see the field research teams. This happens because they have no feedback from the researchers. Through such observations in the field, I will discuss how researchers and the locals can/should address environmental issues in developing countries.
