Outreach in academia is very important for understanding the activities of academia in society. Earth and planetary science, in particular, is a field of research familiar to mankind, and can be a compass to show the state of mankind and what paths , beyond the framework of science, it should take in the future. The mission of Geokatsu Inc. is to create businesses that contribute to the solution of global issues by finding interfaces between the field of earth and planetary science, and society. G-Tour is designed for mobile devices. Users receive a push notification when they enter within a few meters of a geological site, and can read a description of the site by tapping on the push notification. Expected users are mountain climbers and campers. We are currently conducting a needs assessment in low mountains areas of the Kanto area, and will share the results of this needs assessment and knowledge gained at the conference.
