An uncooled infrared camera was made that visualizes the infrared radiation emitted by carbon dioxide, which is an important greenhouse gas. It has become possible to perform a demonstration with a consistent and clear physical meaning of global warming for the first time, that is: the generation of carbon dioxide by burning fossil fuels, the greenhouse effect that the infrared radiation emitted by carbon dioxide in the atmosphere warm the earth's surface, and the mechanism of global warming that the concentration in the atmosphere increases as infrared radiation that warm the earth surface temperature increases.

A gas included in a polyethylene bag was photographed by the infrared camera (a). The whiter the color, the stronger the infrared emission. Infrared emission by carbon dioxide (c) is much stronger than emission from a polyethylene bag only((b), the air included). The room temperature is around 25 degrees C, and the background is about 5 degrees C lower than the room temperature using wet Kent paper.
