[HCG27-01] How was the long-term forecast of tsunami earthquake distorted?

Keywords:nuclear power plant, long-term forecast, March 11th tsunami

Tokyo Electric Power Co. (TEPCO) did not respond to the warning of huge tsunami publicized in 2002 by the governmental committee named Earthquake Research Committee (ERC). The 11th March 2011 tsunami and severe shakings attacked Fukushima Daiichi of TEPCO and caused level-7 severe nuclear accidents. This reports how TEPCO and related forces distorted the science. Relying on some authority they insist on one-sided argument on professional items. Several actual examples are shown. One is related to ‘Tsunami Assessment Method for Nuclear Power Plants in Japan’ by Tsunami Evaluation Subcommittee of the Japan Society of Civil Engineers, and another comes from poor Japanese seismological education on seismic hazard analysis.
