[HTT19-10] On the Meaning of Affordance and Personal-Space in the COVID-19
Keywords:Personal-Space, Affordance, mask
The chair affords to sit, and the pencil affords to write. Humans get information from the environment and change their behavior. For example, a seat in a university lecture, a seat in a train, a position in an elevator, and so on. In 2020 people's lives have changed due to the spread of telecommuting, online lessons, and delivery services due to the influence of the new covin-19.Behavior is restricted, such as restrictions on admission to shopping malls, stores that cannot be entered without disinfection and temperature measurement, and restrictions on the use of benches and chairs. However, I think that there were other restrictions on people's behavior. I think it is a constraint on psychological behavior such as the sense of distance between people (personal space). The purpose of this study is to investigate how the surrounding environment affects our behavioral choices and how they change.
We compare our behavioral choices before and after the outbreak of the new covin-19 and investigate affordances and changes in personal space during the covin-19. Investigate behavioral restrictions and affordance changes during the covin-19. As a result of the experiment of seat selection in the train by a questionnaire using the presence or absence of a mask, it was found that people's behavior choices changed depending on the presence or absence of a mask. Secondly, we investigate whether there was a difference in the distance between the waiting positions in the station yard of a person depending on the presence or absence of a mask. As a result, there was not much difference between the position of the person standing behind the person without the mask and the wearing the mask. The cause may be that the presence or absence of the mask is not recognized. Finally, we conducted a post-epidemic personal space survey of the new coronavirus with and without masks. There was no big difference in personal space However, the value of personal distance changed to the value of social distance due to the influence of covin-19.
