Group on Earth Observation (GEO) coordinates multiple Earth observation activities around the world. The coordination is essential towards converging similar activities in many countries and making synegy for achievement various global challenges. As one of GEO Flagships, Global Forest Observation Initiative (GFOI) has been initiated in 2011. GFOI provides international coordination machanism in order to support implementing National Forest Monitoring System by using Earth observation data. GFOI provides method and guidance to use Earth observation data, research and development of new science and technologies, data and information provision support and capacity development for those who are not familiar to use Earth observation data. Recently, GFOI has initiated discussion on how to contribute GFOI activities to Paris agreement. It would be expected significant contributions by GFOI to the stakeholders in the Climate Change agenda.
