A five years research project funded by JSPS (Japan Society for the Promotion of Science) has been started in July 2017. The title of the project is "Giant reservoirs of heat/water/material: Global environmental changes driven by Southern Ocean and Antarctic Ice Sheet" and is aiming to establish a new research area for Antarctic environmental system science. The project consists of 7 research topics, including Antarctic ice sheet and Southern ocean sciences, new observation methodology, modeling and other interdisciplinary topics, and we are involved in the topic, "Interaction of the solid Earth and the Antarctic Ice Sheet".

So far, we have been conducting several field surveys in Antarctica, e.g., absolute gravity measurements, GNSS measurements, lake sediment coring, topographic surveys, geomorphological and other surveys near Japanese Syowa station and other foreign research stations as well. In parallel with these observations, we also have been conducting GIA model analyses, satellite data analyses, and ground data analyses, and these results have been reported at the previous JpGU meetings and other opportunities.

As the fourth year of the project, the year 2020 activities were unfortunately quite limited due to the COVID-19 pandemic situation. All most all field surveys were cancelled, and there were several inconveniences to conduct the research works. In the situation, we mainly focus on the data analyses and the model studies using the data so far obtained. In this presentation, we report the outline of these activities and the results. We also report the observation/research plans in 2021.
