[MIS13-P03] Application to the volcanic ash obserbation of the X-band solid state marine radar
Keywords:X-band SSR, volcanic ash, PPI, RHI
Volcanic ash Sakurazima and Kirishima has been observed by Ku band radar(Ku-RAD) of Kagoshima University. In addition, marine radar had shorter search time than Ku-RAD was able to observe volcanic ash. On the other hand, marine radar produced a transmission signal in magnetron which was necessary to change magnetron in a fixed period. This time, we borrowed solid state marine radar which was no necessary to change solidified transmission device and can observe volcanic ash. At first solid satate marine radar was installed on the Kagoshima University Shimoarata campus roof and measured the Sakurajima area in PPI and RHI. Furthrtmore, to move, and to observe eruption of Sakurajima, the marine solid state radar was installed in the boat, the volcanic ash of Sakurajima was observed under navigation. These observation methods were effective for volcanic ashes observation.
