The session of "Geopark" has been held in JpGU meeting for 10 years. The author reviews 185 presentations from 2012 to 2020, and discusses scientific roles of this session and its future. The co-sponsored session with several society members of JpGU has provided as a collaborative session which targets interdisciplinary and multidisciplinary discussion on geopark, involving geoheritage, geodiversity, geoconservation, geotourism, sustainable development, governance, risk management, science communication and geoscientific education. Studies presented in this session seem to be classified into methodology on education, cases of outreach and geotourism, and geoscientific studies in geosites. The author especially expects field observation on regional geography and historical geology in many geoparks.
