Keywords:Shinjo Shinzo, Popularization of science, Geo-power, Chinese geoscience, Buddhist terminology
This paper presents a three-fold emergency by the cosmo-geoscientist Shinjo Shinzo (1873-1938) in his 1920s:
1) The establishment of the institute for physical astronomy at the Imperial Kyoto University;
2) The activities to popularize science, especially cosmic evolution related to Buddhist terminology;
3) The historical study of ancient Chinese astronomy with the collaboration of Orientalists in the university.
We will discuss the geocosmic consciousness cultivated in these processes as well as the international relationship in the term of geo-power.
