Under the theme of "Natural Disasters and People", we will introduce two practices that we have already done in 2020. (Practice1 and Practice 2) One is for the general public, the other is for certified geo-guide members.

Practice 1:
We conducted a field tour called "Treasure Tour" for the general public by visiting some scars of disaster in the Naeba-Sanroku Geopark area. The followings are places we visited during this tour.
1) The Chikuma River Outcrops
・Located in front of the Sakae Village Office.
・It emerged after the 2019 East Japan Typhoon(Hagibis);
2) Aokura Avalanche Site
・It occurred in 1961 and killed 11 people.
・We visited the cenotaph during the tour.
3) The Nakajo River Collapse
・ It is scar of the 2011 Nagano North Earthquake.
4) The North Nagano Prefecture Earthquake Memorial Museum "Kizuna".
・We conducted this tour for not be forgotten of the fact that happened in March.12.2011.

Practice 2:
As a part of the guide training, a workshop was held by the disaster prevention section of Tsunan Town Office to understand the utility of hazard maps and create an evacuation plan called "Time Line" for just in case.

In order to raise awareness of disaster prevention among residents, we will continue to strengthen collaborative relations between the Geopark and the disaster prevention section of the local government.
