[O07-P16] Consideration of snowmelt type lahar at Mt. Katta, Zao

Keywords:Lahar, Zao

Miyagi Prefecture is blessed with fine weather in the summer and snows in the winter. And it is a land that has developed with many benefits from active volcanoes such as Mt. Zao and Mt. Kurikoma. Therefore, we investigated and examined the damage caused by the snowmelt type lahar, targeting Mt. Zao, which has been active in recent years.
It was found that the pyroclastic surge calculated from the amount of eruption has the ability to prepare a large amount of snowmelt water. Even if all the 2m of snow in the pot is melted, there is still room. Damage is expected to increase in years with heavy snowfall, such as the year of the La Nina phenomenon.
