[O07-P59] Meteorological and geographical conditions of river flooding-Comparison of the past and present of the Miyata River-
In recent years, heavy rain disasters have occurred frequently all over the country. During the 2019 typhoon in East Japan, the Naka River (Mito City, Ibaraki) and Kuji River (Hitachiomiya City, Ibaraki) were flooded, but the Miyata River (Hitachi City, Ibaraki) did not flood. We investigated if the Miyata River was resistant to flooding, and as a result, we found that if flooded when Typhoon Kathleen approached the Kanto region in 1946.
Therefore, we wanted to consider the cause of river flooding geologically, categorize the conditions under which flood damage occurs, grasp the causes of disasters in advance, and utilize this knowledge for disaster mitigation.
Currently, we are investigating flood damage during the period from 2010 to July 2020, and investigating the relationship between the average slope of flooded rivers and precipitation per unit time, but no typified relationship was found. In the future, we plan to further analyze flooded rivers nationwide and conduct a field survey of the flooded areas of the Miyata River.
