The Transiting Exoplanet Survey Satellite (TESS) was launched in April 2018 and has completed its 2-year prime mission. TESS is continuing its 3rd year survey as an extended mission. So far TESS has identified over 2000 candidate transiting planets. But the candidates include many false positives mainly due to eclipsing binaries. To discriminate false positives and identify the true planetary nature, it is necessary to conduct follow-up observations.
We are working on such follow-up observations using multi-color simultaneous camera series named MuSCAT/MuSCAT2/MuSCAT3 and a near-infrared radial velocimeter IRD on the Subaru 8.2 telescope. We have conducted follow-up observations for over 200 candidate transiting planets with the MuSCAT series and measured radial velocities of over 20 validated transiting planets around mid-late M dwarfs with the Subaru IRD in the Subaru IRD intensive program.
We present the results of TESS follow-up observations by the MuSCAT series and the Subaru IRD intensive program.
