[SSS07-P09] Analysis of JAMSTEC Seismic Survey Database site
Keywords:MCS, OBS, Database
JAMSTEC provide seismic survey data and outcome through JAMSTEC Seismic Survey Database Website. We introduce database feature and trend of data request. This Website have two major rolls. One is data providing system and the other is publicity of research results.
We can provide survey data by using this website systematically after two years data moratorium. Besides, processed data, published results and derivative data such as seismic velocity model are available. Furthermore, analysis software download page and references list with survey area and cruise ID are in this Website. It is useful for publicity of research results.URL and DOI are follows.

JAMSTEC (2004) JAMSTEC Seismic Survey Database. JAMSTEC. doi:10.17596/0002069
Our providing data is marine seismic survey data. Multi-Channel Seismic reflection (MCS) data and Ocean Bottom Seismograph (OBS) data can be requested from this Website. Data format of MCS data are SEG-D and SEG-Y. Data format of OBS are SEG-Y format about seismic survey, and SAC and WIN in earthquake observation. As a peculiarity of providing, huge size of survey dataset requires off-line data providing. Metadata about survey cruise and data image are available in Website.
During 17 years, we have over 150 case of data providing. About 15 % case are proposal by student. Number of data request by overseas users is gradually increasing after 2010. Seasonal trend of request number is not remarkable. Popular uses of data are reprocessing of raw data, test-data of analysis technique development, and utilization of continuous raw data are.Popular uses of processed MCS data and MCS profile image are seismic disaster field and preparation of IODP proposal. Derivative data, such as seismic velocity model, are use with various field of earth science.
Though analysis of data providing needs, trends of research project and site management, we will continue GUI maintenance and review of web system.
