★Invited Papers

Keywords:Scholarly societies

Forming a borderless world of geoscience is critical for benefiting humanity and forming a vibrant

sustainable future. Earth, environmental, and space science are critical for many societal challenges and

for guiding decisions on these issues. AGU has recently developed a new strategic plan that includes

recognition of the need for deeper engagement with society and the public for a sustainable future and

expanded partnerships worldwide. We’ll discuss the implications for scientific societies and the broader

scientific community and new responsibilities for societies in working with each other and global stakeholders.
