The Commitee on Space Research (COSPAR) is one of the international scientific organizations that the Science Council of Japan (SCJ) has joined on behalf of Japan. The SCJ has sent Japanese representatives to the delegate meetings, the bureau meetings, and commission/panel business meetings to contribute to the promotion of science using space craft such as satellites, sounding rockets and balloons through discussing international standard, fostering young researchers, and supporting research exchanges.

The achievements and a prospects of the COSPAR will be introduced in a five-minute presentation. The session will be concluded by a discussion on the future promotion of international activities through the SCJ.
