It goes without saying that science and technology play a major role in today's society. The expectations of society are also extremely high. This is because public funds are invested in the research. Researchers are responsible for responding to such mandates from society. On the other hand, there is no doubt that society demands various things from science and the scientific community also has diverse ways of interacting with society, depending on the field or position. Under such circumstances, how do scientists individually think about their social responsibilities as scientists and how are they expected to fulfill them? I would like to think based on my experience as a science journalist.
