[E-11-23] Observational studies on light absorbing aerosols and their contribution to constrain the predicted aerosol’s effects on climate
Scientific knowledge of aerosol’s radiation effects and aerosol-cloud interactions has largely been refined in the last two decades. In that progress, the increase in the observable physical quantities and improvements of their measurement accuracy played an essential role. In
this talk, I will review the major issues of the measurement methods of the light-absorbing aerosols in the past, and the new observational facts obtained thanks to the continual efforts of improving the measurement methods in these two decades. I’ll also briefly introduce a recently launched research area.
