1. Science Ethics Education
Our school has been designated as a Super Science High School (SSH) by the Ministry of Education, Culture, Sports, Science and Technology from 2020 to 2025. The main research topic is "creating a role model for science ethics education and disseminating it nationwide". Our school's ethics education is defined as shown in the figure. Although scientific research by high school students has become popular, the learning of ethics that should be accompanied by research has not been systematized.
The rules that should be followed not only by researchers and scientists but also by high school students who conduct research projects, such as prohibition of plagiarism and falsification, must be taught properly first. This is called "research ethics" and is featured in textbooks on "Earth Science Basics" and "Science and Mathematics Inquiry Basics". On the other hand, for problems such as global warming, which have different answers depending on the viewpoint, collecting and analyzing data and considering it based on it is called "Science Ethics. Science Ethics is positioned as an independent and interactive inquiry activity, similar to the subject research on the natural sciences. Everyone, not just those involved in science in the future, needs to evaluate science and technology. Therefore, all students need to be able to gather information on their own about the natural sciences, and all students need to be able to make independent decisions.

2. Specific efforts for science ethics education
All the first-year students who have entered our school will work on the subject research by the group and experience a series of inquiry activities. For students with little experience and knowledge, great results can be achieved by proceeding while discussing. In the second year, students will independently set the theme of natural science in April and start full-scale research on the subject. In July, when the subject research on the theme of natural science begins to progress, the theme of scientific ethics related to natural science research will be set, and the subject research on the theme of scientific ethics will begin. Since all natural science research contains ethics issues, students will study them in parallel with the same group members.
Use data published by public institutions and previous research, or take questionnaires by students themselves to collect data, and promote discussions based on it. The results will be presented in posters and oral presentations at "Girl's Expo with Science Ethics" hosted by our school. We invite 20 specialist researchers in scientific ethics and graduate students and discuss with each other. Incorporate the advice obtained, and publish a collection of natural science research papers and a collection of scientific ethics research papers.

3. Achievements and issues
Students will recognize the importance of obtaining correct information and making their own decisions, rather than swallowing information from the media and SNS. Students also know that opinions differ depending on the viewpoint.
In order to find out and study the viewpoint of science ethics that is always included in the theme of natural science, the ability of the teachers to instruct is important. We have many opportunities for study meetings and study sessions for teachers on how to set and proceed with themes, how to make plans, and how to make presentations and evaluations. The current issue is how to evaluate the subject research on science ethics.
