[MZZ50-04] Katsumi Mochiduki (1905-1963) selected to study geology

Mochiduki was born as the first son of the naval surgeon, and his father died when Mochiduki was young, but he selected to study geology, as his favorite hobby was reading maps. He learned German at his middle high school days. He read Wegener”s famous book of continental drift in his university days, and he met his young-days friend of Ietaka Okada (1904 - 1970) who was famous geochemist.
