[SEM16-12] A derivation of extended Murakami model
Keywords:crustal fluid flow, electrokinetic phenomena, static electromagnetic fields
Murakmi model assumes a uniform extrinsic electric current density distribution along an inclined rectangular fault plane with its thickness assumed to be infinitesimally small. The present study assumes a uniform extrinsic electric current density distribution in a cuboid without neglecting its thickness. The present study also derives the electrostatic potential distribution due to the identical extrinsic electric current density distribution which Murakami (1989) did not derive. Moreover the present study derives mathematical expressions of the static electromagnetic fields at arbitrary points outside the cuboid while Murakami (1989) derived the expressions on the boundary. Derived mathematical expressions together with their numerical evaluations are shown.
