[G03-P02] Development of teaching materials using VR technology in earth science education
The range of temporal and spatial scales of events covered in earth science education is extremely large. For this reason, it is often difficult to conduct observations and experiments because there are no classroom lessons. Under these circumstances, the GIGA school concept is providing a one-teacher-one-car environment and a communication environment, and educational materials using ICT are considered to be a good match for earth science education because they allow free manipulation of time and space scales. The author has developed teaching materials using VR technology and verified their educational effects (Iida and Kubota, 2022; Iida et al., 2023). In this presentation, we will report on the VR teaching materials we have developed and their educational effects.
