Activities to achieve Sustainable Development Goals.
The Itoigawa Fossa Magna Museum in Niigata Prefecture, the core facility of the Itoigawa Geopark, was registered as a Regional ESD Activity Promotion Center in 2020.
The museum plans and implements social education programs related to ESD and SDGs using the Itoigawa UNESCO Global Geopark as a field. In addition, as a regional museum, the museum actively collects and disseminates information that is needed by the local community.
This presentation will discuss the efforts that have been made to date toward building a sustainable society, divided into two main categories: school education and social education activities.
